Grass Pitch
The grass pitch area at NCEA Dukes Academy is one of the largest school outdoor spaces available to hire in Northumberland, covering over 55,000 square metres of well-maintained grounds that can be marked out to suit a wide range of sports and activities. Football in 11-a-side, 9-a-side, 7-a-side, and 5-a-side formats, rugby, cricket, rounders, and more can all be accommodated with markings arranged in advance of hire. For athletics clubs, there is a full 400-metre track with 8 lanes and a long jump pit. Please note that there is currently no permanent equipment on the grass pitches, and hirers should bring their own where required. This is an ideal space for football clubs, rugby teams, cricket clubs, rounders leagues, schools sports days, holiday activity camps, and community sports events across Ashington and Northumberland.
